• 5.0 out of 5 stars from ReaderHal -- Best Read-In-A-Year Arrangement, and Easy To Use : I read through the Bible every year, though I admit I missed some years in the last 2-3 decades. However, after using various plans on PC, online, Kindle and print media, my favorite remains the One Year Bible for the very simple reason that it provides the best daily mix. When you get to the more tedious parts of, say, Leviticus or Numbers, you have less of it to mull through each day since you will also be reading excerpts from Psalms. Proverbs and the New Testament. Yes, I know, there are also lessons to be learned from the tedious parts, too - though some takes a bit of digging to discern - but that is rather the point of reading the Bible in its entirety. If you can take 15 minutes a day, for 365 days, you can change your life. 2018 has been one of the most exciting years of my life, in terms of emotional growth and character development. You can read through the whole Bible in a year...EVERY year! : I recommend the One Year Bible to my students all the time! I'm on my sixth or seventh year through the One Year Bible. This is my second kindle version after starting with a hard copy. I've enjoyed the NLT for years and decided to try this one. Reading each day from the OT, the NT, Psalms and Proverbs reveals how much continuity really does exist in the Bible as a whole. No more getting stuck in Leviticus or Deuteronomy when trying to read from Genesis to Revelation! Books like these are broken into bite-size chunks balanced out by portions from the NT, Psalms and Proverbs. Have you got 15-20 minutes per day? • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Tearose -- Well bound, and a real blessing. : When I ordered this edition of the One Year Bible, I was looking for a way to read a regular daily portion of scripture, and to decide on a version. These Bibles are very reasonably priced, and on Amazon are even more so. I had always gotten the paperback versions, and thought that was what I was ordering when I got the NKJV. I was quite surprised when I received a hardcover, and have been delighted over the months because it has worn very well--and I am HARD on the books I carry. The binding has held up extremely well, and the ribbon marker in the hardcover edition is a nice feature you don't get in the paperback. I don't know yet which version I'll actually end up with, although the NKJV is better than many. However, I would recommend the One Year Bible to anyone who wants to get an overview of scripture, and if you can afford the hardcover, I would urge you to buy it. It will serve you well. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because a few of the words are off ( I've been reading the OYB for 8 years now). I like to read in bed before I settle down to sleep; so I can read without having light on in bedroom as light on kindle that allows one to read in a dark room.
