  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Neale Blackwood -- Need more proof to eat more plants? Here it is : A great book that brings together all the science that supports a plant-based diet. The book is easy to read and accessible with lots of good analogies. Plant foods are great for you and the planet and you can read about the science that backs that up. The book pushes a mostly plant-based diet. It doesn't push vegan or vegetarian. Being mainly plant based is the aim. The more the better. Highly recommend the book. I follow the Plant Proof podcast - thanks Simon for all the wonderful work that you do in sharing the science. ( Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Moose in NZ -- I seldom give 5 stars, but I seldom get this much value from any book : I just want to comment on a couple of reviews complaining that the book gets a bit technical. You won't need a degree in biology or something to understand the book; the author has done the hard work for us, and packaged information in an accessible way. It is packed with scientific proof, and it should be. I have recently been diagnosed with CVD and if I am going to trust my path to recovery to information I damn well expect it to stack up! You can't drive a car or use a computer without a measure of specific education allow you to get the best from them, so too with understanding our bodies, health, and choices in a world where a whole lot of profit stems from our ignorance. I now understand the risks better than before, and some pretty easy to remember 'on the fly' tips as I normalize the wider information. My heartfelt plea if you're reading my review this far is to be ready to invest a few hours of your life in the realistic expectation that you can learn to add years to your life. Wishing everyone the best for their health and well-being, and if you do nothing else, start with this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2021 )

I absolutely love his neutral voice and his confidence that the evidence will present his point. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from EarthHorse -- Buy the paperback if you want to use as reference : I bought the kindle version and as my kindle is quite old the diagrams and tables cannot be enlarged so I recommend the book but I would have preferred to the paperback version as all the diagrams and tables would be bigger and readable! • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Brilliant book. I can’t recommend strongly enough : Brilliant book. I can’t recommend strongly enough. I adopted a WFPBD about eight months ago. It was a gradual process arriving there and no one was more surprised than me when I did. I read a lot of books, listened to lots of podcasts and watched far too many videos. Most of what I read was good but this is probably the best. I'd especially recommend it as a starting point. It's very readable. Not too much science and what is included is easily understandable. Simon's approach is balanced, not too preachy and science based. He provides you with lots of data then it's up to you to decide whether you want to introduce some changes. He's realistic and doesn’t expect too much. I initially approached this with a focus on health a wellness so I was particularly interested in the primer on the environmental damage the standard western diet causes including how animals are treated. Read and hopefully you'll introduce some positive changes into your life. Small steps are better than no steps. ( Reviewed in Singapore on June 11, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Harold -- Australian perspective : This book is a must read for Australians suffering from obesity and chronic diseases. While most of the information has been available in the USA for a number of years it is good to see that slowly Australia is waking up to the benefits of eating more fruit and vegetables. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from C. Manecaper -- Gut aufgearbeitete Übersicht über die Datenlage : Simon Hill bietet eine gute Aufarbeitung der Datenlage bezüglich Ernährung- ohne Dogma, und ohne moralischen Zeigefinger. Und ohne unrealistische Heilsversprechen. ( Reviewed in Germany on July 18, 2021 )
